Rising 160m over 1.05miles this is an 'old fashioned'
hillclimb from the Clocktower buildings to the main gates of Bigland Hall
estate.
Where is it?
Travelling along the A590, turn towards Cark/Holker estate at the
Haverthwaite crossroads. Follow the B5278 through Haverthwaite and take the
second left, immediately after passing over a bridge (signs for Clocktower
Electricals). SATNAV postcode LA12 8LY.
Parking and Safety
Parking is limited at the start and finish of the climb. Regular local
riders are requested to use the Haverthwaite TT layby roughly 1 mile from
the start (used as a meeting place for the Barrow Central Wheelers
Haverthwaite TTs).
The course is tree lined and riders are advised that in wet and 'leafy'
conditions the road can become slippery.
